What you will do
- Drive architectural decisions for backend systems to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Build and operate high-performance, real-time data pipelines for trading events.
- Design and maintain GraphQL and WebSockets API layer for high-traffic clients.
- Optimize ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, and Redis for high-volume trading data.
- Instrument services with metrics and alerting; participate in on-call rotations.
- Debug complex latency, memory management, and reliability issues under heavy load.
Requirements
- 5+ years of production backend engineering experience, preferably with TypeScript.
- Expertise in WebSockets, event streaming, and pub/sub architectures.
- Deep familiarity with PostgreSQL and Redis; experience with ClickHouse preferred.
- Track record of operating high-availability services at significant scale.
- Solid understanding of core trading concepts (orders, fills, order books).
- Strong debugging skills including performance profiling and query optimization.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka or comparable streaming systems.
- Professional background in fintech, trading platforms, or low-latency applications.
- Familiarity with DeFi protocols or on-chain data structures.
