Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California or San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $190,000–$261,250 USD annually, plus potential performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect the core infrastructure and backend for an enterprise agentic framework.
• Build a modular, multi-tenant workflow platform initially focused on customer support and expandable to IT, Security, Compliance, Marketing, HR, Legal, and other ticket-based workflows.
• Design state-machine and agentic workflows that support human validation and fully automated execution.
• Implement tracing, logging, transparency, safe execution, and rollback mechanisms for AI-driven decisions.
• Drive reliable backend development and collaborate with Product, Platform Engineering, CXI, and business stakeholders.
• Set engineering standards for code quality, performance, architecture, and mentorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Technical leadership experience on large projects involving automation tooling, distributed systems, and APIs.
• Extensive full-stack development experience and a record of deploying production-grade automation.
• Hands-on experience with ML-assisted systems, decision support, or agentic automation.
• Deep familiarity with distributed data platforms, developer tooling, and large-scale infrastructure systems.
• Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as enterprise compliance, data privacy, and security constraints.
