TL;DR

Technical Writer: Producing high-quality, developer-facing content about distributed systems concepts with an accent on translating complex technical ideas into clear, persuasive, and compelling content. Focus on creating high-floor content featuring code and architectural diagrams, driving the narrative for distributed systems, and collaborating with subject matter experts.

Location: Remote opportunity within the United States. Occasional travel may be required for company events and team offsites.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000

What you will do

• Create "High-Floor" content, including technical blog posts, landing pages, email sequences, and ads featuring code and architectural diagrams.
• Translate complex distributed systems concepts (like Durable Execution, idempotency, and compensation logic) into opinionated content for engineers.
• Produce developer-focused case studies and customer co-marketing content highlighting real-world use cases.
• Collaborate with engineering subject matter experts and customers to deeply understand systems and design decisions.
• Own the content lifecycle from research and interviews through drafting, iteration, and publication.
• Refine your technical writing skills and deepen your understanding of distributed systems concepts.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of technical writing experience in an engineering, DevRel, solutions, platform, marketing, or similar role within a tech, SaaS, or B2B environment.
• Proven ability to write clear, engaging, and technically accurate content for a developer audience.
• Comfort reading and writing code in languages such as Go, Java, TypeScript, or Python.
• Solid understanding of backend and distributed systems concepts such as retries, state, idempotency, orchestration, queues, and failure handling.
• Excellent interviewing skills and the ability to extract meaningful technical insights from customers and engineers.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience writing about distributed systems, developer platforms, or infrastructure.
• Background in DevRel, technical marketing, or open-source communities.
• Familiarity with modern AI systems, agentic architectures, or data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with hirify.global or a different workflow orchestration platform.
