TL;DR

Commercial Counsel (AI/SaaS): Supporting hirify.global's Go-To-Market organization by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements with global and domestic organizations with an accent on balancing legal and business risk. Focus on advising on contractual issues related to data protection, privacy, security, intellectual property, and emerging AI/LLM usage in a SaaS environment.

Location: This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our New York City office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including designated in-office days each week to connect and build as a team. Admitted to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction (New York preferred or ability to register as in-house counsel in NY).

Salary: $220,000–$260,000 USD

What you will do

  • Support Sales and Partnerships teams by drafting, reviewing, and redlining customer-facing commercial agreements.
  • Negotiate directly with customer and partner counsel to drive agreements to execution.
  • Partner closely with Sales, RevOps, Finance, Security, and Product to facilitate efficient deal execution.
  • Advise on contractual issues related to data protection, privacy, security, intellectual property, AI/LLM usage, liability, and compliance in a SaaS environment.
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance to help close deals while maintaining scalable contracting processes.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of contract templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and negotiation guidelines.

Requirements

  • 7–12+ years’ experience negotiating and drafting commercial sales agreements, including in-house experience at a SaaS, infrastructure, or technology company and/or a law firm.
  • Strong experience negotiating SaaS, cloud, or technology agreements in support of direct enterprise sales teams.
  • Demonstrated experience redlining complex agreements at scale.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy, security, intellectual property, and technology contracting issues in a B2B SaaS context.
  • Comfort advising on emerging AI-related contractual issues (e.g., model outputs, data use, acceptable use restrictions, indemnities).
  • Strong communication skills and comfort advising non-legal stakeholders.
