Principal Product Manager (Fintech)

Principal Product Manager (Fintech): Owns the strategy, roadmap, and execution for foundational Tax Platform systems, focusing on modernizing legacy systems, improving correctness, and creating durable platform capabilities. Focus on navigating ambiguous problem spaces, driving adoption of shared platform capabilities, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and operational reliability in regulated domains.

Location: Remote (US & Canada). Employees based in Denver, San Francisco, New York, or other specified hubs will be expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week.

Salary: $180,000 to $224,000/yr in Denver & most major metro locations, and $210,000 to $263,000/yr for San Francisco, New York, & Seattle.

What you will do

• Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for foundational Tax Platform systems.
• Define and evolve a clear Tax Platform strategy aligned with hirify.global's broader Tax strategy.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Compliance, Legal, CX, Data Science, and Product teams to align priorities and drive adoption.
• Tie platform initiatives to customer outcomes using data, domain expertise, and partner input.
• Advocate for durable, correct, and scalable solutions with incremental delivery and clear success metrics.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, including meaningful ownership of platform teams and multi-year initiatives.
• Demonstrated success operating in complex, multi-product environments with cross-team dependencies.
• Strong system-level thinking and product judgment to navigate ambiguity and make hard tradeoffs.
• Experience evolving or modernizing critical systems over time, balancing short-term delivery with long-term health.
• Comfort working in regulated or compliance-sensitive domains such as payroll tax, fintech, HR, or legal tech.
• Proven ability to partner closely with engineering teams and translate between platform decisions and business outcomes.
