What you will do
- Own core marketplace systems, including backend services, data inputs, and experimentation infrastructure.
- Improve reliability, performance, and observability of the marketplace.
- Build and evolve personalized marketplace experiences like matching, search, and recommendations.
- Partner with Product and Data Science to translate goals into technical designs.
- Diagnose and resolve data quality, performance, and correctness issues across systems.
- Enable safe, repeatable experimentation through robust A/B testing and analysis workflows.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful ownership of production systems.
- Strong backend engineering experience (Python preferred), including service design and data modeling.
- Experience building or operating systems where reliability, data quality, and performance are critical.
- Highly data-driven mindset, comfortable with experimentation, measurement, and optimization.
- Proven ability to operate in ambiguous problem spaces and bring structure and clarity.
- Product-minded approach with an understanding of how technical decisions impact user experience.
- Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including Product and Data Science.
- A bias toward ownership, speed, learning, and continuous improvement.
