Data Engineer

TL;DR

Data Engineer: Building and optimizing high-quality datasets and data pipelines for various stakeholders with an accent on privacy, governance, and data quality. Focus on developing robust data ingestion systems and driving adoption of data products.

Location: Onsite 4+ days/week in Bellevue, Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, or Seattle, USA.

Salary: $157,000–$235,000 annually

What you will do

• Make high-quality datasets available to consumers in a timely manner.
• Develop data pipelines adhering to privacy and governance principles.
• Build expertise and ownership of data quality for supported domains.
• Develop tooling and systems to overcome data consumption limitations.
• Drive adoption of the data sets produced.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in building data pipelines.
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in SQL or similar languages.
• 3+ years of development experience in Python, Java, Scala, or similar object-oriented/scripting language.
• Ability to prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex projects to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must work in an office 4+ days per week in one of the specified US cities.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery/Trino.
• Experience in version control systems such as Git.
• Data architecture and warehousing experience.
• Experience leading a small team of data or software engineers.
• Experience with Airflow.
• Experience in ETL / Data application development.
