What you will do

• Collect, analyze, and interpret datasets to support statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
• Design, train, and deploy NLP and transformer-based models for financial surveillance use cases like misconduct detection and trade manipulation.
• Develop ML models following workflows, optimize processes, and conduct data annotation and quality review.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, model fail state analysis, and contribute to model governance and explainability.
• Guide clients/prospects in model fine-tuning and mentor junior team members on model development and EDA.
• Work with Product Managers to translate requirements into technical tasks.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of financial markets, compliance, surveillance, supervision, or regulatory technology
• Experience with data science/ML frameworks like scikit-learn, H2O, Keras, PyTorch, TensorFlow, pandas, numpy.
• Command of data science/statistics principles (regression, Bayes, time series, clustering, P/R, AUROC, EDA).
• Knowledge of NLP transfer learning (word embeddings, transformers like BERT, HuggingFace, GPT), NLTK, spaCy.
• Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and deep learning for NLP; familiarity with LLMs (Ollama, Langchain).
• Excellent verbal and written skills; proven collaborator.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Math, Statistics, or scientific field.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCS, Azure).
• Experience with automated supervision/surveillance/compliance tools.
