TL;DR

Research Scientist (AI): Investigating how intervening on training data can improve the quality and behavior of deep learning models with an accent on data curation and optimization. Focus on sourcing and implementing ideas from deep learning literature to create high-impact production prototypes.

Location: Based in Redwood City, CA (In office 4 days a week). Relocation assistance available for employees moving to the Bay Area.

Salary: $180,000 – $300,000

What you will do

• Source, vet, and implement promising ideas from deep learning literature and original research.
• Conduct research grounded in real customer needs and specific product outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to translate findings into tangible product impact.
• Run large-scale experiments and build production prototypes.
• Contribute to the shaping of the overall product vision.

Requirements

• 3+ years of deep learning research experience.
• Strong fundamentals in deep learning and practical experience with PyTorch.
• Practical experience or publications in data pruning, curriculum learning, synthetic data generation, or dataset distillation.
• Experience training large vision, language, or multimodal models.
• A demonstrated track record in deep learning research through papers, tools, or other artifacts.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed data processing tools like Spark or Snowflake.
• Experience building and shipping ML products.
