Backend Engineer (Cybersecurity)

TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Cybersecurity): Building and operating a global serverless platform for next-generation SIEM, responsible for automatically managing the industry’s largest event data store and search system with an accent on scalability, high availability, and cost efficiency. Focus on designing and developing the control plane in Golang, optimizing hardware and fleet utilization, and ensuring the successful durability and high availability of the NG SIEM data plane.

Location: Hybrid, on-site in Austin, TX. Expectation to be in office 2-3 times a week. This position is for U.S. candidates only.

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Work on cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects.
• Participate in scoping, designing, and developing new features, leading solutions to open-ended problems.
• Contribute to the scalability of the LogScale engine.
• Develop and extend the control plane in Golang, ensuring high availability at scale.
• Collaborate with team members through code reviews, pairing, documentation, and technical guidance.
• Monitor features in production and troubleshoot critical production issues.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Austin, TX, USA for a hybrid work model (2-3 days a week in office).
• Experience in software development and distributed systems.
• Ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs between short-term delivery needs and long-term product goals.
• Experience in contributing to broad technical leadership in products or services.
• Fluency in both functional and object-oriented programming, with the ability to pick up new languages.
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Experience programming in Golang.
• Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with Kafka.
• Hands-on experience in large-scale distributed system architecture, high scalability, and optimization.
• Exposure to Log Management or cybersecurity products.
