Senior Product Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Product Engineer (Fullstack): Designing and implementing features for a web-based fiber management platform that enables customers to design, sell, and manage next-gen broadband networks with an accent on GIS-based systems, tile servers, fiber network models, and interactive maps. Focus on extending the platform to work with other critical systems and supporting production systems.

What you will do

• Design and develop features for a web-based fiber management platform.
• Work on technically challenging GIS-based systems including state of the art tile servers, fiber network models, and interactive maps.
• Extend the platform to work with other critical systems through web services.
• Support the production systems by triaging bugs and application performance issues, and periodically participating in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and shipping cloud-native applications and platform services to production.
• 2+ years experience working with contemporary Javascript frameworks (e.g., Vue, React) or similar.
• 5+ years experience working with large relational datasets.
• Solid understanding of cloud services and their best practices (AWS preferred).
• Ability to break down product requirements into deliverable software.
• Enthusiasm to work on new things and a readiness to jump in and contribute.

Nice to have

• Having worked with spatial data (for example via PostGIS).
• Experience with real time data streaming.
• Knowledge of how and when to use various persistent and ephemeral data storage technologies.
• An understanding of frontend mapping technologies (Leaflet, MapboxGL.js).
• Effective working within Agile Development Methodologies.
