Principal Software Engineer (Golang, Distributed Systems)

What you will do

• Drive engineering excellence, best practices, architecture review processes, and operational maturity across the organization.
• Influence technical strategy by applying deep knowledge to guide challenging, transformational, and complex projects.
• Lead innovation by anticipating and executing visionary concepts for IBM/hirify.global products that drive the product roadmap.
• Steward architecture by shaping the organization's technical direction on key technologies, architectural patterns, and client solutions.
• Act as a force multiplier by actively mentoring senior engineers and building a sustainable, strong peer technical network.

Requirements

• College or university degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Deep expertise in software engineering with modern programming languages like Golang, distributed systems, and enterprise services at scale.
• Minimum experience operating in a Staff Engineer, Senior Staff Engineer, or Principal Engineer capacity with demonstrated influence across multiple teams.
• Proven ability to serve as the Technical Lead for challenging, business-critical, and highly complex projects.
• Demonstrated experience crafting and successfully driving a multi-quarter/multi-year technical strategy and vision.
• Strong communication skills that thrive in a document-based culture, leveraging asynchronous and synchronous collaboration.
• Must have the ability to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
