What you will do

• Advise on US export control (EAR) and sanctions (OFAC) compliance for AI cloud infrastructure services.
• Provide legal guidance on escalated restricted party screening issues and advise on regulatory risks.
• Advise on export classifications, licensing assessments, jurisdiction, and deemed export compliance.
• Monitor regulatory developments (US, UK, EU) affecting technology exports, sanctions, AI systems, and cloud services.
• Advise on compliance processes, policies, and internal guidance materials, coordinating with outside counsel.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate compliance into business operations and support incident response.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (or eligibility for in-house registration).
• 3-6 years of relevant experience, with familiarity with encryption classifications a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to apply complex regulations to products, services, and business operations.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work effectively across time zones with globally distributed teams.
