What you will do
- Be accountable for the delivery and personal development of your team(s).
- Act as a servant leader, adapting your leadership style and supporting individual performance through coaching and mentoring.
- Enable fluent and effective collaboration within the team, supporting them through system architecture, design, or implementation challenges.
- Develop and evolve a long-term strategy and roadmap for the team in alignment with Product Managers.
- Lead strategic team building and planning for delivering highly available features that scale with company growth.
- Be a key part of the recruitment and growth of the engineering team.
Requirements
- Around 5-8 years of experience managing software engineers, including managing 8-10 direct reports.
- Come from a technical background, ideally as a hands-on Individual Contributor (IC) in software engineering.
- Be a people manager who builds an effective work culture and manages larger teams through processes and delegation.
- Act as a problem finder and solver, both technically and organizationally, to help the team overcome issues.
- Run effective performance reviews that celebrate achievements and support team growth.
- Demonstrate pragmatism and obsession for simplicity, efficiency, and performance.
