TL;DR

Strategic Account Manager (Aerospace & Defense): Driving business growth and strategy for top customers in the Space & Defense – Power & Data group with an accent on managing technical proposals and cross-functional alignment. Focus on identifying new opportunities, understanding customer requirements, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Location: Onsite in Blacksburg, VA, USA. Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required.

Salary: $117,000–$135,000 Annually

What you will do

  • Implement business strategies, large customer initiatives, and continuous business improvement practices.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customer-related inquiries.
  • Promote greater customer satisfaction through value-based selling and value pricing.
  • Create strategic engagement points with customers to generate profitable new business opportunities.
  • Leverage technical aptitude to identify new opportunities and provide effective solutions.
  • Coordinate across functional disciplines to achieve order requirements and contract obligations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering.
  • 7 years of account management experience.
  • Experience in the sale, design, or production of engineered components, subsystems, or systems.
  • Demonstrated prospecting skills, with experience in selling to key military/aerospace OEM customers preferred.
  • Experience in facilitating change, planning and organizing, customer focus, and building successful teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20% of the time.

Nice to have

  • 5 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
