Focus on developing use cases, documenting best practices, and validating solution architectures through Proof-of-Concept testing.

Location: Chicago, IL, US. Hybrid and remote work practices are offered where feasible. Ability to travel domestically and internationally (30% + frequency) is required.

Salary: $105,000–$160,000

What you will do

• Communicate with stakeholders to detail solution requirements for various solutions.
• Evaluate design requirements from customers and partners, providing feedback and guidance.
• Develop solution architectures that inform product development initiatives and guide customer engagements.
• Document industrial network and/or digital automation network designs (prerequisites, topology, reports).
• Validate solution architectures and report results of Proof-of-Concept (PoC) testing.
• Stay educated on industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies, sharing knowledge internally and externally.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in industrial control systems.
• Experience navigating converged IT/OT environments and deploying tools for SCADA, HMI, and MES/ERP (e.g. FactoryTalk, TIA Portal, DeltaV, Ignition).
• In-depth knowledge of technical protocols (e.g. OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, CAN bus, ProfiNet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT).
• Proven track record within a systems engineering role in a market/industry relevant to hirify.global.
• Engineering Graduate with a focus on ethernet networking, industrial systems & controls, and/or low latency & high reliability digital communications.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to translate complex information.

Nice to have

• Experience with networking technologies (e.g. 802.3, 802.11, 4G/5G) or IEC 62443.
• Exposure to coding in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Python, Java, Node-Red, and/or others relevant in industrial automation.
• Experience with data engineering, data historians, and other analytic projects.
