TL;DR
Commercial Counsel (AI SaaS): Providing practical day-to-day commercial legal support for sales, marketing, and customer success teams with an accent on negotiating complex AI SaaS agreements. Focus on identifying creative legal solutions for in-bound commercial transactions and incorporating evolving AI/privacy regulations into customer agreements.
Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California or New York, New York. Must work from office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Salary: $280,000 - $340,000 per year (for San Francisco or New York City based roles)

What you will do
- Provide day-to-day commercial legal support for sales, marketing, and customer success teams in the AMER region.
- Collaborate with the Product Legal team on product and operational items impacting customer agreements.
- Negotiate and identify creative legal solutions for in-bound commercial transactions.
- Identify and pursue process improvements for buy-side supporting motions.
- Develop and revise contract templates and playbooks based on product, organization, and legal changes.
Requirements
- Admitted to the California State Bar, New York State Bar, or Registered In-House Counsel and in good standing.
- 10+ years of combined experience as a commercial attorney within a law firm or software technology company.
- 2+ years in-house experience at a SaaS and/or AI technology company.
- Privacy and artificial intelligence subject matter expertise, including privacy regulations (GDPR, e-Privacy Directive, CCPA, etc.) and AI regulations (EU AI Act).
- Experience driving commercial, SaaS, and enterprise B2B transactions.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, written, and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
- Certified Information Privacy Professional or equivalent.
- Prior experience with a fast growing technology company.
- Experience supporting channel and reseller partnerships.
- Experience supporting customers in the financial services industry.
