Senior Software Engineer (Java)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Java): Design and develop scalable microservices and cloud-based solutions for integrating SaaS systems and enhancing customer experience. Location: Must be physically located in and plan to work from Mexico City (CDMX) or Mexico State (Estado de Mexico). This role requires hybrid work, attending the local office for part of the week.

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, test, and deploy standardized integration and automation solutions.
• Integrate hirify.global products, third-party SaaS systems, and data platforms.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups within a 2-week Agile Scrum sprint.
• Explore and implement AI and machine learning solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with developers, IT application owners, architects, and business analysts.
• Contribute to sprint retrospectives for continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years in backend or integration engineering, designing scalable microservices and cloud solutions.
• Advanced proficiency in Java.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
• Fluency with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, SAM, Serverless Framework) or equivalent.
• Expertise integrating SaaS applications (e.g., Salesforce, Zuora, NetSuite, Workday, Coupa).
• Strong background in unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; experience with code reviews.
• Proficient in Agile Scrum methodologies, with experience using Jira and Confluence.
• Ability to document APIs, database schemas, and backend processes.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js, Python, or Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with iPaaS and low-code platforms (Workato, Boomi, Mulesoft).
• Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Travis CI).
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch).
• Understanding of security best practices, governance, data compliance.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and cloud databases (DynamoDB, Snowflake, BigQuery, SQL).
• Knowledge of orchestration and data transformation tools (Apache Airflow, dbt, Fivetran).
• Exposure to automation using AI, machine learning, or natural language processing.
