Power Grid Analyst: Mapping, analyzing, and modeling electrical grids to inform strategic capex decisions and support the green energy transition with an accent on techno-economic power flow modeling and non-wire solutions. Focus on designing grid investment plans, conducting interconnection analysis, and optimizing resource distribution across international markets.
Location: Hybrid role based in London (UK) or Paris (France).

What you will do
- Map, analyze, and model electricity grids across diverse global markets to inform strategic capex planning.
- Develop techno-economic models to determine the optimal mix of energy resources based on grid constraints and peak profiles.
- Conduct technical assessments of grid quality and stability, focusing on flexibility and BESS non-wire solutions.
- Support the design and review of grid development and Integrated Resource Plans for technical sign-off.
- Analyze grid connection queues to provide actionable insights on infrastructure constraints.
Requirements
- Strong background in energy systems or an educational degree in electrical engineering or power system modeling.
- Advanced expertise in power flow modeling tools such as PSCAD, PSSE, PowerFactory, or PandaPower.
- Experience with non-linear optimization and development of physics-based grid modeling tools.
- Deep understanding of energy economics, grid infrastructure principles, and utility-scale energy projects.
- Ability to work proactively, iterate quickly, and generate insights from large, complex energy datasets.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of linear economic modeling tools like Plexos.
- Experience with DERs (Distributed Energy Resources) and medium/high voltage grids.
