What you will do

• Define and lead the technical vision and architectural roadmap for the Dealer Competitive Intelligence platform.
• Partner with Product, Data Science, and Analytics teams to transform complex data into strategic intelligence products.
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, testability, observability, and operational excellence.
• Guide development across Java backend microservices and modern React frontend applications.
• Mentor and coach engineers to promote sound technical decision-making and career growth.
• Evaluate and incorporate AI/ML capabilities to enhance data product accuracy and value.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with 3+ years in a Principal or Staff engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in Java and frameworks like Spring Boot.
• 5+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems in high-traffic, 24/7 production environments.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical roadmaps and architectural trade-offs to executive stakeholders.

• Experience with full-stack development, particularly with React.
