What you will do

• Define and lead the technical vision and architectural roadmap for the Dealer Competitive Intelligence platform, ensuring long-term performance and reliability.
• Serve as a technical leader, establishing clear engineering practices for code quality, testability, and operational excellence.
• Guide technical direction for Java backend services (microservices, APIs) and modern web applications (React) for data visualization.
• Mentor and coach engineers, leading technical design reviews and promoting sound technical decision-making.
• Evaluate, advocate for, and incorporate advanced technologies, including AI/ML capabilities, to enhance market intelligence data products.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years leading technical strategy or serving as a Principal/Staff Engineer.
• Strong experience with Java (or similar languages) and frameworks like Spring Boot.
• 5+ years designing, building, deploying, scaling, testing, and evolving distributed systems and high-volume transaction applications using service-oriented architecture in 24/7 production environments.
• Strong proficiency in cloud infrastructure, AWS preferred, with familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts (e.g., Terraform).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, applying appropriate data models.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities to articulate complex technical roadmaps and trade-offs.
