Location: This hybrid role is based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, with an expectation of 40% office attendance. (Limited temporary work abroad up to 3 weeks/year is possible with manager approval).

Salary: €83,000–€117,000 gross annual salary (including FlexBudget and 8% holiday allowance).

What you will do

• Lead technical decisions and set up projects involving real-time time-series data in Databricks (Scala) environments.
• Contribute to Cloud Infrastructure setup, maintain API servers, and develop streaming/batch data processing pipelines.
• Empower other departments by making data accessible and usable to drive hirify.global’s digital innovations.
• Design and implement robust, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions to meet product requirements.
• Provide technical advice to product managers and other teams to shape the product.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering.
• Previous experience with REST API development (e.g., Spring or FastAPI).
• Understanding of streaming data ingestion and processing with MPP data platforms such as Spark.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Scala, and Python.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices including code reviews, version control, testing, and CI/CD.
• Genuine interest in DevOps/SRE principles for production deployment.

Nice to have

• Working experience with high volume time series data.
• Knowledge of data modeling and architecture patterns.
• Experience deploying applications to Kubernetes, with skills in monitoring (Grafana) and debugging.
• Experience with cloud providers (e.g., AWS) and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB) and RDBMS (e.g., Postgres) databases, and proficiency in SQL and DBT with Snowflake.
• Familiarity or interest in MLOps and data science techniques.
