Data Engineer Consultant

TL;DR

Data Engineer Consultant (Python/Cloud): Build and maintain data engineering solutions across client projects and internal hirify.global AI solutions with an accent on cloud architecture, data pipelines, and production-ready infrastructure. What you will do

• Design cloud architectures on GCP, AWS, and Azure, including storage/compute choices, cost monitoring, and role management.
• Develop and operate data pipelines by building ETL scripts in Big Data environments.
• Build server-side tools in Python (e.g., bulk data processing, REST API servers, authentication).
• Containerize and orchestrate applications using Docker and Kubernetes, managing K8s clusters for Data Science workloads.
• Automate CI/CD and deployment workflows to support Data Science projects at client sites.
• Implement infrastructure and services adapted to Machine Learning workflows, supporting model learning and provisioning.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with a strong quantitative component (e.g., Econometrics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance).
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud, or Software Engineering.
• Strong Python skills and solid SQL DBMS knowledge (ideally PostgreSQL), plus ideally experience with a NoSQL DBMS (ideally MongoDB).
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) and ability to mix services within the same project.
• Comfort with Docker and CI/CD automation; strong interest in building Kubernetes competence if not yet experienced.
• English and Dutch verbal and written skills are required; no work permit can be provided and non-Dutch speakers will not be accepted.
