With an accent on ensuring systems are well-designed and scalable, improving architecture, and driving reliability and performance. Focus on conducting architectural deep-dives, mentoring key members across teams, and developing a high-performance culture.

Location: Must be based in Canada and able to work within EST/EDT hours. Remote, hybrid, or onsite (in cities with local offices) options available.

Salary: $210,000 - $235,000 CAD

What you will do

• Ensure systems built for new initiatives are well-designed and scalable.
• Analyze existing systems and infrastructure to identify and address improvement opportunities.
• Drive improvements in systems reliability and performance.
• Improve development practices, from design reviews to incident management.
• Conduct architectural deep-dives and mentor key members across service teams.
• Contribute to developing a high-performance culture within the Retail organization.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional experience in software development.
• 5+ years of experience as a technical leader for multiple teams.
• 2+ years of experience managing architecture across multiple teams with 35+ engineers.
• History of developing business-critical systems at scale on the cloud.
• Experience in more than one technology stack (e.g., Go, PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, Python).
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
