TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (AI): Develops robust, distributed services and performance-optimized systems for AI-powered shopping experiences with an accent on platform scalability, data modeling, and workflow automation. Focus on designing and implementing features for Bing, MSN, and Edge, and ensuring system reliability under high traffic.

Location: Cairo, Egypt. Expected to work from the office at least four days per week if living within a 25-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements and drive design document development.
  • Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Leverage subject-matter expertise to drive project plans, release plans, and work items.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers, monitoring system degradation and initiating restoration actions.
  • Proactively seek new knowledge to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • 4+ years of experience in distributed systems development.
  • 4+ years of experience working with microservices.
