Salary: $250,000 – $365,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Build high-throughput backend applications and services, including streaming chat between users and agents.
• Design a "Multiplayer Computer" for real-time, conflict-free collaboration between humans and AI on shared shells and filesystems.
• Develop full-stack infrastructure that enables product engineers to ship high-quality user experiences rapidly.
• Create durable interfaces between the Agent and internal systems as well as external agentic systems (MCP).

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building backend services, systems, and platforms.
• Strong ability to work autonomously and self-direct complex projects.
• Pragmatic approach to development, prioritizing incremental shipping.
• Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of shared ownership.
• Must be based in or able to work from Foster City, CA for the hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Full-stack development experience.
• Experience building AI-powered products or tooling.
• Knowledge of collaborative editing technologies (OT, CRDTs) or Git internals.
• Experience with event sourcing systems.
