What you will do
- Recruit, guide, advise, and coach diverse and seasoned engineering teams.
- Collaborate with peers and the director of engineering to develop and expand the product and engineering organization.
- Develop and maintain critical regulatory and security features using PHP/Laravel.
- Take ownership of your work from design to deployment, either independently or as part of a collaborative team.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate complex business problems into elegant, customer-focused solutions.
- Contribute to the modernization of our infrastructure and applications, ensuring our platform is resilient and performant.
Requirements
- Must be based in the UK.
- Strong background in PHP and Laravel.
- Comfortable building large-scale front- and back-end systems.
- Knowledge of designing and implementing REST APIs.
- Knowledge of infrastructure technologies (MariaDB, NGINX, Ansible, RabbitMQ, Redis, AWS S3, Jenkins) and their operational support.
- Possess senior-level engineering experience and capable of leading technical discussions among the team, with experience overseeing performance and delivery.
- Enjoy engaging directly with customers to grasp their issues and priorities.
- Drive effective communication within teams, including asynchronous documentation via Architectural Decision Records (ADRs).
- Accustomed to operating with significant alignment and independence, and comfortable navigating technical uncertainty.
