TL;DR

Software Engineer, Production Engineering: Building and optimizing end-to-end reliability, durability, scalability, and performance of Figma products and services with an accent on operational challenges, infrastructure growth, and production issue debugging. Focus on defining best practices, building tools, and maintaining AWS infrastructure for rapid feature delivery.

Location: London, England. You will be required to attend in-person onboarding.

What you will do

  • Define best practices and goals for reliability, durability, scalability, and performance with engineering teams.
  • Address operational challenges by improving telemetry and building tools/services.
  • Debug production issues across various services and stack levels.
  • Participate in design and production reviews for new features and infrastructure components.
  • Plan for and support the growth of Figma’s infrastructure.
  • Operate and maintain AWS infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience operating infrastructure components/services at scale.
  • Strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals and interest in distributed systems.
  • Experience managing infrastructure services in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Demonstrated commitment to operational security and best practices.
  • Track record of diagnosing problems within complex systems.
  • English: B2 required.

  • Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills, using a systematic approach.
  • Care deeply about software/system quality while balancing idealism and pragmatism.
