TL;DR

People Operations Generalist (HR Operations): Designing and implementing essential people systems for a growing AI lab with an accent on compliance, employee experience, and global talent access. Focus on streamlining onboarding, managing immigration processes, and optimizing HR technology platforms.

Location: This role is based in San Francisco, California. Visa sponsorship and relocation support are available.

Compensation: $110,000 - $190,000 USD annual salary range.

What you will do

  • Shape the onboarding experience from offer acceptance through new hire training.
  • Design and manage reliable compliance systems, including I-9 verification and employee eligibility documentation.
  • Coordinate immigration processes with outside counsel to enable global talent access.
  • Evaluate and implement HRIS, payroll, and benefits management technology platforms.
  • Administer benefits enrollment and coordinate with brokers during renewals.
  • Create documentation and resources for clear answers regarding people systems.

Requirements

  • Experience in HR operations or people operations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment compliance, including I-9 requirements and federal/state regulations.
  • Experience supporting immigration processes in coordination with outside counsel.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Rippling, Workday, SequoiaOne).
  • Strong writing skills, experience making systems and policies clear and accessible.
  • Must be based in San Francisco, California.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a high-growth technology or AI company.
  • Background in benefits administration or total rewards.
  • Familiarity with leave management or workers' compensation.
  • Experience building onboarding programs or improving employee experience.
