What you will do

• Drive down incidents through proactive monitoring and alerting.
• Provide feedback to development teams on system stability and enhancements.
• Develop runbooks and patterns to sustain applications in production.
• Gather input to develop new capabilities in displaying/monitoring/alerting on key performance indicators.
• Take ownership of the incident resolution process and participate in investigations.
• Plan for validation and verification of changes deployed by infrastructure and development teams.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Linux systems and scripting (Shell, Python, Perl, JavaScript).
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) and PaaS technologies (Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, BOSH).
• Solid understanding of containerization (Docker, rkt, Mesos) and microservices/RESTful architectures.
• Proficient in Continuous Delivery and automation tools (GitOps, Ansible, Rundeck, Argo CD).
• Skilled in middleware and application support (Apache, Tomcat, Spring, Java-based frameworks).
• Experienced with databases and storage (RDBMS and NoSQL).
