TL;DR

VP, Head of Software Engineering (Fintech, Web3): Leading technology strategy and platform development for a high-growth derivatives clearing division with an accent on mission-critical clearing technology and new product innovation. Focus on building and scaling an engineering organization, defining global clearing technology strategy, and adopting emerging technologies like blockchain, AI/ML, and tokenization.

Location: Mostly On-Site in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $246,500–$304,500 per year

What you will do

  • Build and inspire a high-performing engineering team for Cboe Clear US.
  • Shape talent strategy through mentorship, development, and succession planning.
  • Lead global collaboration and influence enterprise strategy as part of Cboe's Senior Management group.
  • Determine optimal technological solutions for product business strategy, including blockchain.
  • Develop and execute the Cboe Clear US product roadmap, driving Agile and continuous integration.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies like Tokenization, AI/ML.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 10+ years of proven expertise and leadership in global markets clearing or operations technology.
  • Ability to grow and build high-performance technology teams.
  • Detailed understanding of clearing concepts such as settlement, margin, collateral management, and risk management.
  • Highly technical software engineering background, comfortable reviewing code (Python, Java, SQL) and technical architecture.
  • Experience building highly resilient cloud systems, managing teams using GitOps and DevOps.
  • Track record of leading technology initiatives in highly regulated environments.
  • Outstanding communication and executive presence with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
