Sr. Specialty Solutions Engineer (Observability)

Location: Hybrid in Irvine, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego, San Ramon, Sacramento, Los Angeles, or San Jose; must be in the PST time zone; travel required up to 30%

On-target earnings: $220,000–$300,000 per year, including base salary and applicable target bonus.

What you will do

• Design and architect complex observability solutions for enterprise customers.
• Support account teams and sales engagements with technical advice, proposals, configurations, pricing, and business justifications.
• Qualify opportunities by evaluating customer requirements, decision-making processes, and funding.
• Present solution designs, value propositions, architectural recommendations, and implementation or assessment services.
• Build relationships with SSE colleagues, leaders, partners, customers, and prospects.
• Mentor entry-level team members and provide technical leadership to maximize quality and team output.

Requirements

• Expertise with observability technologies such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Chronosphere, New Relic, and Splunk.
• Expertise with Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud, and Splunk Enterprise Security.
• Consulting experience advising clients on technical solutions, pre-sales, and solution development.
• Enterprise experience with cloud infrastructure, networking, system administration, and multi-vendor solution integration.
• Ability to understand customer needs, define requirements, design solutions, evaluate technologies, and deliver internal training.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, technical, Visio, and PowerPoint skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cribl and BigPanda.
• Experience with automation and advanced configuration management tools.
