Software Engineer (Gamedev): Prototyping and deploying solutions with external development studios and iterating with cutting edge engine features with an accent on optimizing performance, scalability, and quality. Focus on contributing large amounts of Luau code to demonstrate the feasibility of various game modes and shape the future of the platform.

Location: Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday in San Mateo, CA, United States.

Salary: $153,120—$182,170 USD

What you will do

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to external game development studios.
• Help external studios optimize performance, scalability, and quality.
• Work deeply on prototypes that push the boundaries of what the hirify.global engine can support.
• Contribute Luau code to demonstrate the feasibility of various game modes.
• Identify and advocate for core engine, performance and debugging tooling projects.
• Collaborate with other engineers to shape the future of the platform.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in games development or 3D tools development experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Lua, Luau, C# or C++.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into understandable guides and documentation.
• Must have United States work authorization. The Company may not be able to employ candidates who have United States work authorization related to certain U.S. visa categories, or support future H-1B sponsorship at this time.
