TL;DR

Principal Optical Engineer (Semiconductor): Designing and validating high-performance optical transceiver modules for data infrastructure with an accent on calibration routines, performance validation, and test automation. Focus on building robust testbeds and software infrastructure to support products from R&D to high-volume production.

Location: Santa Clara, CA. Access to technology/software subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations implies US work authorization is required.

Salary: $154,240–$231,000 per annum

What you will do

  • Design and validate high-performance optical transceiver modules.
  • Develop calibration routines for optical devices.
  • Develop performance validation tests for optical transceivers.
  • Build and maintain testbeds and associated software infrastructure.
  • Support products from the R&D phase to high-volume production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 10+ years, or Master’s/PhD with 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Optical Communications from system to component level.
  • Familiarity with Optical Module Metrics.
  • Hands-on experience with coherent communication systems.
  • Proficiency in Python with demonstrated experience in test automation.
  • Ability to bring up and debug optical/electronic hardware.
  • Eligibility to access export-controlled information as defined under applicable U.S. law is required.
