Senior Staff Application Engineer (DSP/Optical Communications): Assisting customers in designing and optimizing networking or optical subsystem products that integrate hirify.global coherent DSP solutions with an accent on debugging challenging optical, analog, and signal-processing problems in customer implementations. Focus on translating customer requirements into deliverables and collaborating across cross-functional engineering teams to accelerate customer success.
Location: Onsite in Santa Clara, CA. Operate from our Santa Clara site, five days a week.
Salary: $121,400–$181,800 per annum

What you will do
- Assist customers in designing networking or optical subsystem products using hirify.global coherent DSP solutions.
- Partner with customers to optimize and validate hirify.global’s coherent DSP platforms in real-world optical systems.
- Debug challenging optical, analog, and signal-processing problems in customer implementations with a hands-on mindset.
- Capture and translate customer requirements and feature requests into actionable deliverables.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams (analog, digital, DSP algorithm, firmware, system, optical) to remove engineering obstacles.
- Provide technical guidance and training to customers on hirify.global’s coherent DSP solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant professional experience, OR a Master’s and/or PhD with 3+ years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of digital signal processing and its application in optical communications.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed electro-optical components and characterization techniques.
- Proficiency in programming/analysis languages and tools such as Python, C/C++, MATLAB.
- Excellent analytical, data-analysis, and communication skills.
- Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled information as defined under applicable law (e.g., U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals).
Nice to have
- Experience with Ethernet and/or OTN protocols.
- Knowledge of coherent transceiver module design.
- Experience with DSP offline processing and system-level optical networking hardware.
