Sr Software Engineer (Embedded)

TL;DR

Sr Software Engineer (Embedded): Designing and developing complex software components for surgical robotics and innovative medical products with an accent on embedded C++ and OOA&D. Location: Onsite in Lafayette, Colorado, USA. Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.

Salary: $124,800.00 - $187,200.00

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and document complex software components and applications for products in the Surgical business.
• Lead requirements gathering, estimating, and planning efforts for new product development.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, systems, and test engineers, as well as quality assurance and regulatory compliance teams.
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and support existing surgical products.
• Identify and implement complex process improvements.
• Contribute to the overall success of development teams within the R&D unit.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar Engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of development experience (or an advanced degree with 2+ years).
• 4+ years of professional experience with C++.
• Proven experience with embedded programming.
• Knowledge of OOA&D concepts and software development best practices.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience with other languages such as Python, Rust, or Java.
• Proficiency with Git-based source control systems.
• Knowledge of video protocols including HDMI, SDI, and DisplayPort.
• Experience with the GNU/Linux platform and scripting languages (bash, Perl).
• Experience in the medical industry or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience with iterative design processes such as Scrum, SAFe, or Test Driven Development.
