Network Deployment Engineer

TL;DR

Network Deployment Engineer: Focused on building out and expanding hirify.global’s global network with an accent on datacenter infrastructure, physical and logical network configuration, and system administration. Focus on developing and implementing consistent processes and tools for effective infrastructure management, providing technical leadership during deployment activities, and improving ability to deploy and maintain global infrastructure.

What you will do

• Provision, monitor and maintain hardware, software, and network in new hirify.global data centers.
• Perform server administration tasks remotely using IPMI/BMC tools, including server provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting and firmware updates.
• Perform network configuration tasks to network devices in green field deployment, and brown field migration activities.
• Manage remote contractors to complete datacenter installations and upgrades (rack and stack).
• Actively seek opportunities to introduce cutting-edge technology and automation solutions that are effective, efficient and scalable.
• Create and maintain documentation, plans, SOP’s, MOP’s etc.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience in Data Center Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, Linux Systems Administration, Network Engineering, and/or DevOps experience.
• Familiarity with day-to-day tasks and projects common in Data Center Operations.
• Experience with optical transport technologies such as CWDM/DWDM.
• Configuration management tool experience like Saltstack, Chef, Puppet or Ansible.
• Knowledge and exposure to Network Protocols, Topologies and Enterprise architecture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field is a plus.
• Direct experience executing on datacenter / infrastructure projects with many moving parts.
• Good working knowledge of Juniper Junos, Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS and Arista EOS.
• Proficient in one or more programming languages and willing to learn new ones when required.
• Ability to manage MS excel and Google spreadsheets.
