Principal Consultant - Senior Business Analyst (Public Sector)

Principal Business Analyst (Public Sector): Supporting the analysis, design, and implementation of technology-driven solutions for government agencies with an accent on gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, and ensuring successful solution adoption. Focus on optimizing workflows for government services, collaborating on system integration, and supporting automation, reporting, and self-service tools.

Location: New York City. Working Model: Hybrid (2-3 days in-office per week or as per business needs)

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 Gross (includes base+bonuses)

What you will do

• Engage stakeholders to understand and document business needs.
• Conduct interviews, workshops, and process mapping sessions.
• Create Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Optimize workflows for government services and citizen engagement.
• Collaborate on system integration and cloud-based platform adoption.
• Develop and execute test cases, UAT plans, and facilitate UAT sessions.
• Serve as liaison between business, IT, and partners, conducting training and supporting system adoption.

Requirements

• 10+ years as a Business Consultant, with 3+ years in the public sector.
• Experience with digital transformation and enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Understanding of FedRAMP, FISMA, HIPAA, and CJIS regulations.
• Experience with citizen engagement, public sector workflows, compliance, and service delivery models.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

Nice to have

• CBAP or PMI-PBA certification.
• CSM or PMP certification.
