Software Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (AI): Designing and delivering innovative AI/ML solutions in a cloud environment with an accent on Python/Java services, AWS Cloud, and AI/ML model integration into production. Focus on building scalable services, developing RESTful APIs, and championing CI/CD and security practices.

Location: Hybrid from Galway City, Ireland (two to three days per week).

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy high-quality Python/Java services in AWS Cloud, contributing to AI/ML feature development.
• Integrate AI/ML models into production systems and build scalable services.
• Create documentation and develop RESTful APIs for hirify.global Cloud users.
• Own features end-to-end from design through to deployment in an agile environment.
• Mentor Associate SDEs and champion CI/CD, testing, and security practices.
• Learn and implement emerging AI/ML technologies, contributing to release process improvements.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field with minimum 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python/Java skills with solid understanding of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with machine learning concepts and familiarity with at least one AI/ML framework.
• Experience with AWS fundamentals (S3, EC2), RESTful API development, and microservices architecture concepts.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and Git version control.
• English: B2 required for effective communication and stakeholder alignment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, AI/ML model deployment, or MLOps practices.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, advanced microservices patterns, or serverless computing (AWS Lambda).
• Knowledge of DevOps and SRE principles beyond basic CI/CD.
• Experience with data analysis tools, data streaming platforms (Kafka), or building ML pipelines.
• Previous experience mentoring developers or leading technical discussions across teams.
