What you will do
- Advise Product and R&D teams on product/feature development and releases, focusing on AI compliance.
- Participate in customer feedback processes for supported product areas.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing and Product teams on go-to-market plans and materials.
- Identify and develop patent application opportunities with R&D teams, driving the application process.
- Work directly with the Business Development team on relevant strategic and technology partnerships.
- Partner with various legal teams to surface, communicate, and drive resolution for product-related concerns.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school and U.S-qualified (California bar membership or California registered in-house counsel preferred).
- 8+ years combined experience working in-house at a SaaS company as product or IP counsel and/or at a law firm counseling high-growth SaaS companies on IP matters and handling tech transactions.
- Experience with AI product counseling strongly preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Creative and practical problem-solver, comfortable assessing risk and weighing tradeoffs in complex situations.
- Experience in data-powered features/machine learning, consumer protection, technical integrations/iPaaS, payments, productivity software, or international compliance.
