Software Engineer (Front-end)

Location: Hybrid in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom; office attendance required two days per week

What you will do

• Build and evolve user-facing features with modern frontend technologies.
• Write clean, reusable, scalable code and optimise applications for performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with Product and engineering colleagues to turn designs into technically sound implementations.
• Review code, debug frontend applications, and maintain high engineering standards.
• Contribute to documentation, shared knowledge, and Scrum ceremonies.

Requirements

• Strong experience with HTML, CSS including SASS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks, ideally React Native and TypeScript.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON.
• Confidence building responsive iOS and Android applications.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Knowledge of frontend tooling, asset build tools, Git, accessibility, web standards, and UX best practices.
