Senior Data Privacy & Governance Engineer (AI): Building and optimizing data security, privacy, and governance products and platform components for personal AI and Copilot systems with an accent on regulatory compliance, secure data usage, and distributed systems. Location: Required to be local to the New York, Seattle, or San Francisco areas in the U.S. to work from the office 3-4 days per week.
Salary: USD $158,400 – $258,000 per year (for San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area)

What you will do
- Build tools for data security, privacy, and governance products in distributed data and cloud platform environments.
- Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, application engineers, and AI Researchers to build next-generation automated data governance systems.
- Ship high-quality, well-tested, secure, and maintainable code.
- Find solutions to overcome roadblocks and deliver work to users quickly and iteratively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and user experience.
- 4+ years experience building scalable services on public cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and extensive use of datastores (RDBMS, key-value stores).
- 3+ years experience collaborating with engineering, product, legal, and compliance teams to embed privacy-by-design principles and build automated scalable governance mechanisms.
- 3+ years experience in building data lineage tracking, proactive alerting mechanisms, monitoring, and enforcing compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
Nice to have
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.
- Dedication to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
