What you will do

• Ensure 24x7 reliability and availability for critical database systems hosted on AWS and Azure Cloud platforms.
• Implement and enforce effective industry standard processes and policies within QA, DEV, and Production environments.
• Participate in the architecture and design phases of databases to support critical applications.
• Engage with SRE, DevOps, and Application Development teams to implement solutions.
• Support the tactical and strategic directions for the organization’s database infrastructure.
• Lead projects independently and adapt to changing technology environments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Database Engineering and Operations with a bachelor’s degree.
• Extensive hands-on experience and authoritative knowledge of various database platforms (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, AWS Aurora, SQL Server).
• Experience in building and managing databases in the cloud (Azure and AWS RDS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, Jenkins, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, Azure Resource Manager, and Ansible.
• Skilled in scripting languages such as Shell and Python.
• Commitment to teamwork and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for 24/7 support.

Nice to have

• Experience in migrating databases from Oracle to Postgres.
• Working knowledge of Neo4J or other graph databases, AWS DynamoDB, Glue, and Lake Formation.
• Database & Cloud certifications.
