What you will do

• Administer production and non-production database environments, including backups, restores, patching, and index optimization.
• Monitor database health, performance, and availability; respond to alerts and incidents promptly.
• Troubleshoot performance issues related to queries, indexing, locking, and resource utilization.
• Manage access, roles, permissions, provisioning, configuration, and upgrades following security best practices.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on deployments, incident resolution, and automation initiatives.
• Use Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and support CI/CD workflows with GitLab; document processes and configurations.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in database administration or engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server in production environments.
• Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies, performance troubleshooting (query tuning, indexing, execution plans).
• Hands-on experience with AWS (RDS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and basic scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and database security best practices; support live production systems independently.
• Good listening and understanding in English for initial screening.

Nice to have

• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, or Snowflake.
• Hybrid cloud environments, automation standardization, high-availability or regulated sectors (SaaS, finance).
• Interest in platform engineering or cloud infrastructure roles.
