What you will do

• Lead development of user-facing safety products delivering measurable impact.
• Own complex projects end-to-end, making independent technical decisions.
• Design, build, and deploy scalable backend APIs, services, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Policy, Data Science, ML, Legal, and Trust & Safety teams.
• Drive engineering excellence through mentoring and architectural guidance.
• Respond rapidly to evolving abuse and compliance challenges with strategic execution.

Requirements

• Must have 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong expertise in Python and backend API frameworks (Flask, Django).
• Strong frontend skills with JavaScript (React, TypeScript) for web and mobile.
• Experience in Safety or Anti-Abuse domain at scale.
• Ability to own large projects with ambiguity and make independent technical decisions.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Cassandra, Postgres, or ScyllaDB databases.
• Experience with real-time streaming systems like Kafka or Pub-Sub.
• Experience building native mobile features on iOS and Android.
• Knowledge of Go, Rust, or Elixir.
