Senior Machine Learning Engineer (ML Agents and Planning)

Location: Foster City, CA, United States (Hybrid)

Salary: $242,000 - $290,000 per year (base salary only)

What you will do

• Develop deep learning models using imitation and reinforcement learning to generate driving plans for human-like agents.
• Work on techniques to estimate driving plan quality across safety, progress, comfort, and realism.
• Contribute to large-scale machine learning infrastructure to discover new solutions and advance the field.
• Develop metrics and tools to analyze errors and system improvements.
• Collaborate with Perception, Planning, Simulation, and Validation engineers to solve autonomous driving challenges.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work in the United States (Foster City, CA)
• PhD in computer science or related field with 1+ year experience, or MSc with 5+ years experience.
• Experience in planning and/or prediction using reinforcement learning techniques.
• Experience with training and deploying transformer-based models.
• Experience with production ML pipelines including dataset creation, training frameworks, and metrics.
• Fluency in Python and basic understanding of C++.
