Autonomy Evaluation Engineer (AI)

Salary: $145,000–$210,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop autonomy KPIs, performance metrics, evaluation methodologies, and validation frameworks.
• Build evaluation and validation tools for autonomous driving systems.
• Analyze driving performance, identify failure modes, and develop scenario-mining and performance-analysis workflows.
• Support simulation-based testing and validation.
• Collaborate with ML, software, systems, and safety teams on engineering decisions.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap and engineering culture of the autonomy organization.

Requirements

• Demonstrated grit, ownership, initiative, problem-solving ability, and consistent delivery in ambiguous and challenging environments.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong Python and/or C++ programming skills.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with large datasets and software systems.
