What you will do

• Create safe and empowering digital experiences for young audiences
• Design and implement backend-heavy features and services for key products
• Maintain high code quality, test coverage, and operational visibility
• Support production systems including participation in on-call rotations
• Drive DevOps culture with infrastructure as code and deployment ownership
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and engineers

Requirements

• Location: Fully remote role based in Lisbon, Portugal
• Proven experience building high-throughput web systems or distributed services
• Strong skills in Node.js, TypeScript, and working knowledge of Python
• Experience across full software lifecycle from design to deployment and support
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, CI/CD)
• Awareness of security best practices in cloud environments
• Good communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and service-to-service communication
• Deep knowledge of infrastructure automation and observability tools
• Experience with Databricks, ML workflows, and data pipelines
• Building internal tools with user-centered design and strong documentation
