What you will do

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering squad, focusing on team health, engagement, and growth opportunities.
• Guide technical decisions and ensure strong engineering standards in a Go/Java/Python environment.
• Lead the team in delivering high-quality, maintainable, and scalable services.
• Drive operational excellence, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response for services.
• Partner with Product to translate goals into actionable engineering work and deliver impactful features.

Requirements

• Proven architectural excellence and strong leadership experience.
• Experience mentoring engineers, fostering inclusion, and building a positive team environment.
• Comfortable working with backend engineers in Go, Java, or Python, guiding solution design and code reviews.
• Ability to run a predictable delivery process and manage service reliability through on-call practices.
• Must be based in Berlin, Germany, and able to work in a hybrid model (2 days a week on campus).
• English: B2 required.
