What you will do
- Own the long-term vision and roadmap for the KAN-DO platform, shaping strategy across distributed systems, robotics middleware, and automotive communication layers.
- Drive KAN-DO from a connectivity layer into a unified engineering platform.
- Translate complex engineering requirements into structured, prioritized platform features, supporting architectural decisions.
- Enable seamless connectivity and robust mechanisms across physical and virtual systems (simulators, HiL rigs, robotics, compute hardware).
- Own platform reliability, lifecycle, and governance, establishing versioning, dependency management, and quality standards.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of junior team members, contributing to engineering culture.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of distributed computer systems and real-time systems (RTOS).
- Knowledge of robotics middleware (ROS2, DDS, LCM, ZeroMQ, gRPC) and automotive comms (CAN/CAN-FD, SOME/IP, TSN Ethernet).
- Familiarity with simulation frameworks (HIL, SIL, MIL, FMI/FMU) and C++ constraints on embedded platforms.
- Experience owning a technical platform end-to-end and managing cross-functional engineering teams.
- Skilled in prioritizing complex, deeply technical backlogs.
- Domain experience in Automotive software/simulation, Robotics/autonomy, Distributed systems engineering, or Real-time control systems.
Nice to have
- Experience with multi-site distributed test environments.
- Exposure to digital twin or virtual development toolchains.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity considerations for high-availability systems.
