Software Dev Engineer Internship (Embedded Development)

Location: Germany, with work in the office Monday through Friday; locations include Berlin and Dresden

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate scalable products and services using cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Build and maintain resilient, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective distributed systems.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Write clean, maintainable code using software engineering best practices and design patterns.
• Work in an agile environment with CI/CD, monitoring, troubleshooting, and on-call responsibilities.
• Use and contribute to GenAI and AI-powered tools that improve development productivity.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or graduated from a Bachelor's or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
• Expected graduation between October 2026 and September 2029, or at least one academic term remaining after the internship.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Experience with data structures, basic algorithm development, or object-oriented design principles.
• Availability for a full-time, 3–6 month internship without conflicts during the hirify.global workday.

Nice to have

• Previous technical internship or project experience.
• Experience with AI development tools, cloud platforms such as AWS, SQL or NoSQL databases, open-source projects, or version control systems.
• Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex systems.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
